The Journal of Asian Society for Health and Exercise Submission Guidelines and Manuscript Writing Principles
Manuscript Writing Overview
The manuscript should be formatted in 10-point font, using “Human Myungjo” for Korean text and “Times New Roman” for English text. The document should be in portrait orientation. Tables should be created using the table function without using the line drawing function, and figures should be included directly within the document when possible. The author can decide the font size for main and subheadings, as well as other formatting choices for English abstract to ensure that they are distinguishable (final editing will be done during publication).
Cover Page Format
The first page should include the title of the paper, author name(s), affiliation(s), position(s), contact details (phone, email, etc.), and information about research funding. Starting from the second page, personal information should be omitted, and only the manuscript title and content should be included.
Publication Fees
The author must pay a review fee of 60,000 KRW for each manuscript (up to 10 pages) at the time of submission. If the paper is accepted for publication, the author must pay a publication fee of 150,000 KRW per manuscript. Additional charges of 30,000 KRW per page will apply if the manuscript exceeds the specified length (refer to the “Manuscript Writing Standards” below). For papers funded by research grants, the same review fee is applied while the publication fee is 300,000 KRW per manuscript, with an additional charge of 30,000 KRW per page for extra pages.
Submission of Manuscripts
Manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission system.
Manuscript Writing Standards
The manuscript should be written in MS Word. It should be written in either Korean or English, but if there is a possibility of confusion in meaning, Chinese characters or the original terminology may be indicated in parentheses. An English abstract summarizing the research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions, should be limited to 15 lines and inserted after the author(s) name and affiliation(s). A Korean abstract is not required. Manuscripts should not exceed 10 pages (including references and appendices), with a maximum of 14 pages if necessary. The manuscript should be formatted in two columns and follow the Journal’s editing standards.
Tables and Figures
Tables and figures should be formatted according to the guidelines in Appendix 1.
Mathematical and Statistical Symbols
1. Common statistical formulas should not be explained in the manuscript.
2. When presenting inferential statistics, include degrees of freedom, test statistics, and significance levels (do not write a 0 before the decimal point of the significance levels).
3. If many symbols are used, a separate explanation of the symbols can be included in the manuscript.
4. The placement of tables and figures is decided by the Editor-in-Chief, and measurements should follow the International System of Units (SI).
Font and Numbers
1. Statistical symbols or mathematical variables should be italicized.
2. Use Arabic numerals for numbers, and separate thousands with commas for numbers exceeding 1,000.
Citations
Citations should follow the guidelines in Appendix 2.
References
References should follow the guidelines in Appendix 3.
Manuscript Submission Format
The manuscript must be submitted in the latest version of MS Word, and it must adhere to the format outlined in the Appendix 4 or Example provided on the Society’s website.
